Reglan Overdose Injuries

Experienced Attorneys for
Reglan Overdose Victims Nationwide

Any drug can be dangerous if given in the wrong dose, or to the wrong patient or for the wrong length of time. Some drugs are more dangerous than others. Reglan (metoclopramide) is dangerous, and if used for more than about six weeks can cause tremors, shaking and spasms that mimic Parkinson's disease. Unfortunately, in Arizona and across the United States in recent years, Reglan overdoses have continued to occur at alarming rates.

At Plattner Verderame, P.C., helping honest people obtain fair compensation for real injuries and other losses is what we do. For Reglan and metoclopramide overdose cases, our team of Arizona Bar Board Certified Specialists in Personal Injury and Wrongful Death Litigation is available to help you wherever you are in the United States.

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration recently issued a "black box" warning regarding the use of Reglan and other pharmaceutical products containing metoclopramide. In fact, it is now suspected that drug companies may have intentionally hidden Reglan's dangers. To learn more about Reglan or the possibility of joining a pending class action lawsuit, call or contact our Phoenix, Arizona, law offices for a free consultation.

What Does Reglan Do?

Reglan, also known by the generic name metoclopramide, is a short-term treatment option for heartburn caused by gastro esophageal reflux disorder (GERD). Reglan can also be used on a short-term basis to treat nausea and other symptoms caused by slow gastric emptying in people with diabetes (a condition known as diabetes gastro paresis).

If given in the wrong dosage or for too long, Reglan poisoning can result in:

  • Parkinson's Disease-like tremors
  • A mask-like facial appearance
  • Fever, stiffness, sweating, rapid breathing
  • Depression
  • Hallucinations, anxiety or restless agitation
  • Seizures and convulsions

Sometimes, stopping the drug will stop the symptoms. Sometimes the symptoms never go away.
