At about 3 p.m., somehow the boy got into the street. Police were investigating how he did, but it was immediately not known.

The driver of a 2002 white Hyundai Sonata sedan with Arizona license plate AJN1987 struck the boy and then fled. The boyfriend took the boy to the hospital. Employees there reported the incident to police.
